FORCE WAY INTO BERLIN CITY HALL—Members of a
group of Communist-led demonstrators climb iron gate at the main
entrance to the Berlin city hall in order to unlock it from inside.
Some of the men standing beside the gate are civilian building cus-
todians who were brushed) aside when they attempted to halt the
demonstrators. The march on the city hall by the Communists was
the second in two days. Demonstrators broke up the meeting of anti-
Communist city council and attempted to substitute a regime of their
own. (AP Wirephoto via radio from Berlin).

117 Register for
Draft Here Monday
A total of 117 young men of
draft age were registered by the
local selective service board Mon-
day in the headquarters in the
county court room; according to
Gilbert G. Holman, Cooke county
board chairman.
Only a small percentage of those
registered Monday were in the
age group designated to sign up
the first day. Only those eligible
men born in 1922 were supposed
to register Monday.
Volunteers who assisted with
the registration were Mrs. J. C.
Arrington, Miss Electa Arrington
and George Walker. M. S. James
and B. P. Douglas assisted the
colored registrants.
During the early hours of the
registration, there were as many
as two dozen waiting in line, Mr.
Holman said. However, later in
the day only one or two regis-
trants at a time were kept wait-
ing.
Volunteers still can be used to
assist during the 17-day registra-
tion period.

of 133 over a five year period.
The reservations include one in
Hendry County which consists of
42,000 acres where 75 to 100 Sem-
inoles live; Brighton reservation
of 35,000 acres, where 100 to 150
Indians live, and Dania reserva-
tion of 475 acres for 10 to 15 fam-
ilies. The State Seminole reserva-
tion contains 108,000 acres.
These Indians have improved
their economic condition by tak-
ing farm jobs, hunting for frog
legs for market, cattle enterprises
and the bulb industry.
Their homes are open air
shelters known as chickees, built
of native material, generally of
cypress poles for the frame work
with a thatched roof made of
, palmetto fronds. During cold or
stormy weather, the sides are
closed by heavy canvas. A raised
platform serves as a floor and
sleeping place.
