Leadership for
Women Topic of
Club Discussion
How women over 45 may
change the affairs of the entire
world if they set themselves to
it, was the theme of a discussion
program presented at a meeting
of the Civic and Culture club in
Valley View, Thursday, when
members met in the home of
Mrs. Doye Doty, northeast of
town.
Mrs. Homer Roane had charge
of the program, and was assisted
in the discussion by Mmes. Doty
and C. E. Weseman. It was sug-
gested that women educate them-
selves in special schools for their
age group in order that they
might become efficient helpers
in their communities.
Mrs. Dave Martin played an ar-
rangement of “What a Friend We
Have in Jesus” on an old fash-
ioned organ and Mrs. C. L. Helms,
club president, conducted a busi-
ness session.
The hostess, assisted by Mmes.
Dan Flint and Charles Myers,
served a refreshment plate of
chicken salad, wafers, devil’s food
cake and iced tea.
The meeting closed with the
reading of the club woman’s creed
in unison.
Members present were Mmes.
Frank Newton, Myers, J. I. Lane,
Flint, Helms, Bert Martin, Clar-
ence Dickeson, Edgar Menefee,
Jim Dayton, Roane, Weseman,
Dave Martin, Ed Williams, R. E.
Murrell and A. E. Barnes.
