heart for. much joy, happiness
and peace for our country.
For thought, I would like to
present to you the Inn Keeper of
Bethlehem of Judea. When the
decree of Ca e s a r Augustus
was issued, for everyone to re-
turn to the place of their na-
tivity, this man was fortunate
enough to own a hotel in the City
of David. It meant that all of
the lineage of that mighty king
must came along with the heads

I am sure this man was greatly
excited, and maybe began to put
beds in every available space. I
feel sure he resolved to scrutinize
his prospective guests, for fear
they would become a liability.
Judging him by our modern
business acumen, he would note
—health conditions, children, and
bracket of life. That is, whether
poor or prosperous.
If we have a discerning imagi-
nation, and knowing the particu-
lars of Joseph and Mary, we
would better understand the ex-
pression “no room in the inn.”
Now dear friends, this man,
perhaps unconsciously, has
brought to us a marring of what
would otherwise be a perfect pic-
ture of the greatest event in the
history of the world. The birth
of Jesus Christ, the Savior of
mankind.
In this streamlined, commercial,
material age, in which we find
ourselves let us make sure we
have not crowded out our Lord.
Let us pledge ourselves anew to
have more room for our Prince of
Peace, that His Kingdom might
