Marriage Licenses
Seven couples have obtained
marriage licenses during the
past week, according to
records in the office of Mrs.
Mildred Fulton, county clerk.
Those couples were Ozell
Esco and Gwendola White of
Jacksonville; Ronald Legrant
Ragsdale of Rusk and Lola Bell
McDonald of Jacksonville;
Orval Evell Collins of Alto and
Tommie Bell Terry of Rusk;
Stephen Odis Wood of Rusk and
Ina Belle Relder of Alto;
Buford Floyd Havnes of Flint
and Geraldine Brown of
Bullard Willie Thomas Davis
of Jacksonville and Janet Lea
House of Frankston and
Ritchie Wayne Smith of

Criminal Docket
Twenty cases have been filed
in County Court during the past
week. Those cases included 19
for driving while intoxicated
and one for carrying a pistol.
Roy Leste Bradley was
charged with two counts. One
driving while intoxicated and
one count of carrying a pistol.
Others charged with driving
while intoxicated were: Dave
Boyd. Lawson Hayes Whit-
worth, Juan O. Granados,
Charles M. Phifer, John Cecil
Glenn, James Earl Ross,
George Washington Hadaway,
Coy Crawford, Bobby Frank
Massey, Willie C. Washington,

Cleave, Remmel Richard
Dunlop, Robert James White,
Stewart Bullard, Rufus Carlton
Benge and Edward Woodrow
Ballew.
Probate Docket
Judgements were entered in
the following cases on the
probate docket: Robert L.
Baker Jr., Lester R. Hillman,
Bonita Welkins and Jessie
Glenn (J.G.) Turney.
District Clerk
Seven cases were filed thus
far this year in the office of

clerk. Those cases included six
divorces and one dependent
and neglected case.

Court.

Sheriff's Office
Records in the office of
Cherokee County Sheriff John
B. Slover indicate 20 arrests
during the past week.
The arrests include two for
burglary; two for defraud with
a worthless check; six, felony
theft; one, possession of
marijuana; five, driving while
intoxicated; three, drunk and
one aggravated assault.
Sheriff's deputies also picked
up two black females who had
apparently escaped from Rusk
State Hospital.
Justice of the Peace
Charges have been brought
against 20 persons thus far this
year in the office of Justice of
the Peace Abner Webb.
The charges include four for
speeding ; one, passing in a no
passing zone; three for being
drunk; one, burglarizing a
house at night; one, disorderly
ccnduct; two, hunting squirrell
in closed season; two, no
driver's license; one, fail to
drive in a single lane; three, no
valid motor vehicle inspection
sticker and two, defraud with a
worthless check.
RUSK
FOLKS
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sharp and
daughter Shelly or Corpus
Christi spent the holidays with
Mr. Sharp's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Sharp and his
sister and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Johnny Spraggins. Shelly
remained for a visit. Mrs.
Sharp accompanied her to
Corpus Christi and came home
Sunday.
