The Fair Haven United
Methodist Church in Hous-
ton was the scene Saturday
evening Aug. 23 for a
candellight ceremony unit-
ing in marriage Miss
Cheryle Turner and Gary
Fisher. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. ai)d Mrs.
Joe . Turner of Houston and
Dr and Mrs. James V.
Fisher of Rusk are parents
of the groom.
The Rev. James Riley,
church pastor, officiated at
the double ring ceremony.
The vows were repeated
before an altar decorated
with baskets of carnations,
gladioli, starburst mums,
and majestic daisies in
blue and white flanked by
two large spiral candela-
bra holding white tapers.
Bob Estes, organist,
played traditional wedding
music and also accom-
panied Miss Jeannie
Knight who sang "The
Hawaiian Wedding Song."
Following the benediction,
Miss Knight sang "The
Lord's Prayer."
Preceeding the formal
ceremony the candles were
lighted by Mike and Mark
Turner, brothers of the
bride
Turner gave his daughter
in marriage. The bride
wore a formal gown of
candlelight silk organza
over taffeta. Styled in the
classic Gone With the Wind
manner, the bodice of the
gown framed the neck and
shoulders with ruffles of
Irish lace The waistline
was encircled with candle-
light ribbon and accented
with a single rose Ribbon
bows caught the hem of the
skirt to uplift the fullness
The bride wore a matching
candlelight hat with a
delicate lace crown. Flow-
ers encircled the crow n and
softly cascaded down the
back. She carried a
bouquet of daisies, carna-
tions and baby's breath.
Miss Frances Sumbera
of Dickinson was maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were
Miss Terri Turner, cousin
of the bride. Ft Worth:
Miss Marlene Woolsey,
Nacogdoches: and Mrs.
Gary Justice, Longview.
Thev wore identical
dresses ot blue crepe
featuring empire waistline,
long sleeves, and softly
gathered skirls. They
carried flowers similar to
the bride's.
Mark Fisher of Rusk was
his brother's best man.
Groomsmen were Jimmy
Shields and Phil Staley of
Nacona and Frank Morgan
of Victoria. I'shers were
Gil Staley. Sacona: Ed Go-
forth. Victoria: Mike Phis-
ter. Nacogdoches: Wally
Scoggins. Texas City: Mike
Turner and Mark Turner of
Houston.
For her daughter's
marriage. Mrs. Turner
wore a pink chiffon dress
topeed with a matching
lace jacket. Her corsage
was multi-colored spring
flowers. Mrs. Fisher wore
a lavender chiffon dress
featuring a full-length half
cape She wore a wrist
corsage of multi-colored
spring flowers.
Following the ceremony,
guests were greeted at a
reception, held in the
church's fellowship hall, by
the bride and groom and

The bride is a graduate of

a graduate of Massey
Business School. The
groom is a graduate of
Rusk High School and was
an August graduate of
Stephen F. Austin Univer-
sity.
Following a brief
wedding trip, the couple is
at home in Nacogdoches.

To Hold Service
The James Lott family
will conduct services at
7:30 p.m. Saturday for the
Rusk House Church.
The services will be held
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jimmey Ramey on Euclid
Street.
