western Electric Service
Company
This letter of intent is
published incon junction
with the company's
application to the Mayor
and Commissioners of
cities served by South-
western Electric Service
Company for approval of
an increase in the Com-
pany's electric rate sched-
ules which are proposed to
become effective with
electric bills mailed to
customers on or about
November 1, 1975. In-
creases will apply to all
classifications which com-
prise a total of 33,150
customers. The increased
revenue to the Company
from the revised schedules
will be approximately
$1,186,446 annually, or 11.33
per-cent of the Company's
total annual revenue at
April 30, 1975, exclusive of
fuel adjustments.
The Residential clas-
sification will be increased
by a total of $475,451
annually and will apply to
19,379 customers, for an
average increase of $2.04
monthly per customer.
The Rural classification
will be increased by a total
of $149,747 annually and

annually, amounting to 9.83
per-cent, and will apply to

Other classifications will

$65,437 annually, amount-
ing to 9.94 per-cent, and
will apply to a total of 80
customers.
Approximately three-
fourths of the proceeds
from the increased
revenues will be used to
offset a 13.4 per-cent
increase in wholesale
power cost which becomes
effective.October 1975, and
the remaining amounts to
be aqpplied to the in-
creased costs associated
with financing construct-
ion, payroll expense, in-
surance, property taxes,
materials and supplies,
and continued increase in
cost of providing electric
service.
The charge for restoring
electric service which has
been discontinued for non-
payment will be computed
on a time and mileage
basis, but not less than
$5.00 if restored during
office hours, and not less
than $10.00 at all other
times. Previous charges
had been $250 and $4.00
respectively.
