The Texas Highway Department
has announced three construction
projects in this area. The con-
struction will consist of resurfacing
State Highway 70 from Brown
Street to the north City Limits of
Pampa and State Highway 152
from Hobart Street to Faulkner
Street; U.S. 66 in Groom from east
City Limits to West City Limits;
and in Perryton U.S. 83 from north
City Limits to South City Limits
and State Highway 15 from Cox
Street to East City Limits.
The Texas Highway Department
and the contractor, Gilvin-Terrill,
Inc., of Amarillo, stated that con-
struction will begin in Groom on
July 13, in Pampa July 17, and in
Perryton on July 28, and all work
should be completed by August 5.
T. R. Kelley, senior Resident En-
gineer of the Texas Highway De-
partment explained that traffic
would be carried through the proj-
ects with as little inconvenience as
possible and asked the cooperation
of the public in observing speed
zones, warning signs, and traffic
signals.
