Special from now until June 30—Speidel Watch-
bands, Stainless Steel or Gold-filled — $1.00
The annual spring luncheon is
one of the high points of Carson
County home demonstration clubs.
This year it was held in the War
Memorial Building at Panhandle on
Monday, May 17. Mrs. Charles War-
minski was mistress of ceremonies
and County Judge Clarence C. Wil-
liams gave the invocation followed
by a delicous salad luncheon which
was served to 75 people.
During the luncheon, musical se-
lections were played by Mrs. 'Rich-
ard Hall of Groom Country Neigh-
bors Club. Welcoming address was
by Mrs. Otis Walker of the Conway
Club. “Ode to a Homemaker," was
given by Mrs. Pat Weinheimer and
was enjoyed by all as it gave many
guests and home deconstration club
members a good laugh. This was
a book review titled, “I’ve Only
Got Two Hands and I Keep Them
Both Ringing.”
Mrs. Manuel Ruthardt presented
the “Woman of the Year” award
to Mrs. C. F. Hood of Panhandle.
Mrs. Edith Hughes, county agent,
installed the new Council officers.
They are Mrs. Maynard Bichsel of
Conway, chairman; Mrs. H. F.
Britten of Groom, vice chairman;
Mrs. Donald Warminski of White
Deer, secretary; and Mrs. Agnes
Howe of Panhandle, treasurer.
At the closing the benediction was
given by Mrs. Bonnie King of
Groom who took Mrs. George Lat-
ta’s place. We are sorry Mrs.
Latta could not be present but she
has been in the hospital several
days recovering from injuries re-
ceived in a fall. We wish you good
luck and speedy recovery, Mrs.
Latta, and hope to see you at the
luncheon next year.—Reporter.
