Employees Credit Union

Summers, Chamber presi-
dent Mooday. which offe-
red the organization the
use of the building cnmed
by James I. Perkins. East
3th and Henderson Streets,
rent free for five years
President Summers told
the Chamber s board of
directors that the financial
organization had been
seeking a location for some
time and this building was
available to them
The letter pledged the
Chamber's support and
cooperation if the Credit
Union accepted the offer

At the board's monthly
meeting in the New Sou-
thern Motor Hotel. Presi-
dent Summers announced
the resignation of Henry
Westbrosk from the board
and its Executive Commit-
tee Bobby Tosh was elec-
ted to succeed Westbrook
as a director and Mike
Cry sup was elected to re-
place Westbrook on the
Executive Committee.

Mrs. Sarah Summers re-
pon the recent East Texas
Chamber of Commerce
Tourist Conference held in
Tyler Cherokee County
w as one of only three coun-
ties recognized with a pla-
que for 10 years continuous
support to the ETCC tou-
rism thrust Mrs. Summers
accepted the award on be-
half of Cherokee County,
also an award for the best
costume at the conference.
A report was given by
Director L J Leinback re-
garding the purchase of
signs to be piaced on the
four major entrances to
Rusk, two on U.S. &4 and
two on U.S. 69 The board
felt the pnces justified fur-
ther inquiries and more

breakfast at 10 a.m. Satur-
day. May " in her home by

Play began Thursday

large Bridge Tournament
sponsored by the Nacogdo-
ches Duplicate Bridge
Cub Besides winning the
Women's Pairs. Mrs.
Nelms teamed with Mrs.
E M Prewitt of Silsbee and
also won first place overall
in the Masters game Be-
fore the weekend was out
Mrs. Nelms teamed with
her sister again and placed
third and fifth in two other
bridge matches
The tournament was held
at the Fredonia Inn in
Nacogdoches and w as well-
attended. according to
Mrs. Nelms
