Color halftone postcard printed on textured linen paper showing a campus view of Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. The college, established in Marshall in 1873, is the oldest African-American institute of higher education west of the Mississippi River. The view shows two red brick academic buildings on the right with bushes and sidewalks in front of them and another brick academic building further back on the left. What appears to be a one-story building is partially visible behind some trees in the center background. Printed in the border above the image is the title, "Wiley College, Marshall, Texas," and the code 2A1459-N is printed in the lower right corner of the border below the image. Printed between the message and address sections: "Genuine Curteich-Chicago 'C.T. American Art' post card (Reg. U. S. Pat. Off.}" The postmark on the back of the card is dated Sep 16, 1947, and the card is addressed to Miss Lucille Laurence, Hastings, Mich.
