MEMBERS OF CAST
HAVE IMPROMPTU PARTY
Wednesday night, May 16, at
6 o’clock the members of the cast
were all set for play practice with
only three present, Mrs. Slaugh-

By 6:30 there were only eight
present out of the thirteen mem-
bers. They waited until 7 o'clock,
and then decided to take the
money they had from fines and
bought hamburger meat and all
the trimmings and then went to
Mrs. Slaughter’s home for a feast.
The hamburgers were prepared
by members of the cast.
After a delightful meal accen-
tuated with cokes, potato chips,
fritos, and pickles, they enjoyed
looking at pictures, listening to
the radio, and playing games.

running as gifts. J. L. Peace got

All English, Journalism, and
is “Jesus wept.”
But few realize that this same
verse also symbolizes the human-
ity of Jesus. The verse is from
one of the Bible’s most dramatic
passages attesting to the human
compassion of Jesus. It tells how
He was overcome with grief by
the sight of His sisters mourning
the death of Lazarus.
The human aspects of Jesus are
again made real in the story of
His friendship with Martha and
Mary at Bethany and with their
brother, Lazarus. We see Jesus in
the friendly contacts of that Beth-
any home, a welcome guest, ac-
cepting the kindness and hospital-
ity like any man in need of com-
panionship. »
Jesus was also an effective or-
ganizer and made decisions with a
speed and perspicacity that would
leave many a modern day busi-
nessman agog. After training his
disciples, he sent them forth to be
“fishers of men" much as a mod-
ern day salesman miht direct a
sales force. <
To those who still refuse to ac-
cept the fact of the divinity and
humanity of Jesus, the Biblical
passage that tells of Mary annoint-
ing the feet of Jesus must be sug-
gested.
There are so many other inci-
dents in the Bible that it seems
appropriate to quote the words of
John, “The word was made flesh."
By this John meant that the
Eignificance of the Master's divin-
ity was the fact that Jesus re-
vealed it in His own life.
