Dallas Meeting
Dr. John S. Turner served in
the House of Delegates during
the annual convention of the Tex-
as Association of Osteopathic
Physicians and Surgeons April
27-May 2 at the Hotei Adolphus
in Dallas. Tho house is the policy
making body or the Texas Asso-
ciation.
Over 400 doctors and guests
were on hand for discussions on
congestive heart failure, internal
bleeding, the nation’s physician
shortage, and hazards in blood
transfusions.
Featured speakers included
the Honorable Erik Johnsson,
Mayor of Dallas and Dr. Wal-
lace M. Pearson of Kirksville,
Mo., president of the American
Osteopathic Association.
Canton Revival
J. Porter Wilhite, a former
minister of the Canton Church
of Christ, will conduct revival
services at the Canton Church of
Christ beginning Sunday, May 10.
and continuing through Wednes-
day night.
Services will begin each night
at 7:30 o’clock. according to
Clyde C. Sloan, minister.
Everyone is invited to hear Mr.
Wilhite preach the gospel. He
has worked several years with
the Lyons and Majestic church
in Houston and is now in his 81st
year. All of his friends in this
area are urged to attend.

A Masonic Workshop will be
held for officers and members of
Masonci Lodges in eight cities
in this area at the Pine Lodge
in Ben Wheeler at 7:30 p.m.,
May 19th. Officers of Masonic
Lodges at Ben Wheeler. Canton.
Van. Grand Saline, Edgewood,
Wills Point, Brownsboro and
Chandler have been invited to
participate.
George L. Reese of Canton,
who is with the Texas Highway
Patrol will conduct the work-
shop. He is also Chairman of the
three--county Masonic Workshop
Area. The workshop will deal
with common problems of Mason-
ic Lodges and their operations.
The workshop has been ap-
proved by John R. Collard, Jr.,
of Spearman. Grand Master of
Masons in Texas, and is part of
a semi-annual state-wide program
covering the quarter-million Ma-
sons in nearly 1,000 Masonic Lod-
ges in the state.
Grand Master Collard urged
the attendance of officers and
members of the eight lodges in-
vited to participate and stressed
that other Masons are also wel-
come to attend.
