told about the activities at dis-
trict camp, Rollin Beal, county
camp, and Joe Todd Berry told
about all the activities at Elec-
tric camp. Each member told of
the participation of the club in I
his activity. Oscar Brown, organ-
izational leader, summed up the |
activity report by asking for i
more participation and interest
by all club members and leaders
in the coming year.
Ralph Beal read some rules
that have been adopted by the I
club in order to determine eligi-
bility for certain camps and ac- i
tivities; one of which is that a j
club member must be present at 1
least nine meetings during the I
year, officers must attend all. A j
copy of these rules will be given
to the club members in the near ;

eola Yellow Jackets last Thurs-
day night at Mineola.
Canton's Eagles, coaches by
Tony Ogletree, took a 12-0 deci-
sion over the Mineola Junior
High team. All of Canton’s scor-
ing came in the first half of
play. The Eagles scored in the
first and second periods on runs
of 5 and 1 yards respectively.
Both tries for the conversion
failed.
Mineola’s Junior varsity down-
ed the Canton team. 21-14. Yel-
low Jacket fullback Toby Me-
Clenny led Mineola to the win,
cracking over for two scores. He
struck paydirt going 5 yards
around the left side. Qaurterback
Mickey Colvin booted the con-
version to give the Jackets a 7-0
lead
The Jackets scored again be-
fore halftime with Steve Haw-
kins going 15 yards over the left
side for the score. Colvin con-
verted and Mineola led 14-0 at
halftime.
Mineola’s final score came in
the third quarter when Toby
McClenny raced 55 yards down
the left side lines to score. Ben
Pegues kicked the conversion to
give Mineola a 21-0 lead.
Canton came to life in the fi-
nal period with halfback Tommy
Roberts hitting the middle from
2 yards out to score. Fullback
Chuck Hilliard failed on the con-
version run and Canton trailed
21 to 6.
The Eagles fought back with
4 minutes remaining in the
game to score the final TD
Tommy Roberts went 2 yards for
the score and Chuck Hilliard
converted.
