Woodland Clinic was held April 8
near Rusk on land ow ned by James
Kerr Jr. and Baine Perkins and
managed by Champion Inter-
national Paper Company The con-
test was sponsored by the Cherokee
County Soil and Water Conser-
vation District and conducted by
personnel with the Soil Conser-
vation Service. Texas Forest Ser-
vice and County Extension Service
Twenty-seven Future Farmers of
America students and 4-H members
were judged on pine and hardwood
identification, wildlife plant
relationships, thinning, diameter
growth rates, tree volumes, wood
products, wood identification, site
index, cull tree removal, woodland
suitability groups and compass and
pacing

Alto were honored with a barbeque
dinner and a beautifully decorated
cake in celebration of their 25th
wedding anniversary. April 2Sth
Helping the couple to celebrate
