Ernest G. Partin
Services for Ernest Gee Partin,
82, Rusk, were at 2 p.m. Sunday in
the Thompson Funeral Home
chapel, Jacksonville, with the Rev.
Grover Talbert and the Rev. Jim
Goforth officiating.
Burial was in the Mixon
Cemetery.
Mr. Partin died Thursday night in
a Rusk nursing home after an ex-
tended illness.
He was born July 23, 1904, in
Mixon. He lived in Rusk since 1948,
and formerly lived in Mixon. He
was a retired security guard for
Rusk state Hospital with 26 years
service. He was a former grocery

Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Vera Partin, Rusk; one daughter,
Mrs. Ernestine Gallgher, Lees burg,
Va.; three stepdaughters, Mrs.
Norma McCune, Henderson, and
Mrs. Ann Thompson and Mrs.
Johnnie Stanley, both of Rusk; one
stepson, Wally Jordan, Abilene;
two brothers, Alton Partin and
Elray Partin, both of Mixon; one
sister, Mrs. Nina Sheffield,
Grapeland; two grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren; 13
stepgrandchildren; 16 step great-
grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
Nephews served as pallbearers.

Services were A. E. Trotter, 80, of
Rusk were at 10 a.m. Thursday in-
the Wallace-Thompson Funeral
Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike
O'Bannion officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Hill
Cemetery.
Mr. Trotter died Tuesday in a
Tyler hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1906, in
Dialville. He was a retired Rusk
State Hospital employee and was a
resident of Rusk all of his life. He
was a member of Rusk First Bap-
tist Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Elizabeth Trotter, Rusk; one
daughter and son-in-law, Mollie and
Wayne Spears, Houston; and two
granddaughters, Beth and Jennifer
Spears, Houston.
Pallbearers were Knox Ray, Jack
Fitts, James Long, Robert Choate,
Jeff Lovelady, Orville Huggins,
Herman Glass and Joe Transier.
Jackie I vana Bourgeois
Funeral for Jackie Ivana
Bourgeois of Rusk was at 10 a.m.
Tuesday in the Wallace Thompson
Funeral Home Chapel with Paul
Williams and Jerry McRae of-
ficiating. Burial was in the Taylor
Cemetery.
Mrs. Bourgeois died Sunday in a
Tyler hospital after an extended
illness. She was born June 16,1941,
at Amarillo. She was a resident of
Rusk for three years and a member
of the Rusk Church of Christ.
Survivors are her husband, Bill
Bourgeois of Rusk; one daughter,
Beverely Bermudez of Arizona;
five sons, Joseph Bourgeois of
Rusk, Richard, Thomas and
William Bourgeois of California and
Michael Bourgeois of Arizona; one
brother, William McBride of
Amaraillo; two sisters, Jerrie
Spencer of Texarkana and Amber
Deacon of California; and nine
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glen Stanley,
Carlos King, Calvin Jones, Jimmy
Akin, Joe Rogers, and Robert
Branon.

Jackson, 63, Rusk, were at 2 p.m.
Monday in the Wallace-Thompson
Funeral Home chapel, Rusk, with
the Rev. Don Copeland officiating.
Burial was in the Mount Comfort
Cemetery, near Rusk.
Mr. Jackson died Friday in a
Dallas hospital after a brief illness.
He was born April 29, 1923, in
Rusk. He was a Baptist. He was a
retired deputy for the Cherokee
County Sheriff's Department and a
former Rusk Police Department of-
ficer. He was a World War II
veteran.
Survivors include two daughters,
Geneva Cox and Patsy Ann
Jackson, both of Rusk; one son,
Claude Jackson, Pinehurst; three
sisters, Norma Hanvy and Bertha
Hudson, both of Rusk, and Ruby
Bowman, Tyler; two brothers, J.
W. Jackson and William Jackson,
both of Rusk; one grandson; and
three stepgranddaughters.
Pallbearers were Billy Hanvy,
Comer Hudson, Edward Bowman,
Bobby Gene Jackson, Arnold Ray
Dosser and Larry Dosser.
DA Releases
Indictment
Three sealed indictments were
returned Dec. 10 by a Cherokee
County Grand Jury, according to
personnel in the office of District
Attorney Charles Holcomb.
Indicted on charges of
aggravated sexual assault of a child
on Sept. 25 was James Scurlock of
Rusk.
Names of two persons indicted on
perjury chargers are being
withheld pending arrest by the
Sheriff's Department.
