At Panola Junior College.
Janelle is a clerk in the county tax assessor’s office. Through the Community
Service Department of PJC, she has taken courses in office occupations to in
crease her skill. She has also learned to knit, crochet and macrameat PJC.

the Female Fitness Class at PJC helps her do so. She also plans to take other
courses like tennis to keep in shape.

reduce the amount of time students lose
from instructional periods to participate
in extra curricular activities
The plan establishes a limit on the
number of athletic events teams may
schedule in any given week as well as
establishing a maximum loss of school
time for vocational activities of two
instructional days or no more than two
times from the same class during a
six week period
The board also voted approval of an
increase in the mileage reimbursement
from 18 cents to 20 cents per mile and
also approved reimbursement for meal
expenses by school employes from $7 to
$11 per day
In other action the board passed a
measure pertaining to Title 1 complaint
procedures to meet federal require
menus
Members also expressed satisfaction
in the 99 027 percent collection rate on
district taxes, the highest rate in several
years according to school officials
