Marker at 3 p. m. September 20 for the grave of Hubert F. Mitchell, founder of the town of Alto. Those committee
members in charge of ceremonies were, from left, Bernard Mayfleld, dedication of the marker; John Allen
Tempieton, chairman of the Cherokee County Historical Commission; Dwavne King, unveiled the marker (King
was also a member of the third grade class of Alto who helped restore the graves of Mr. Mitchell and his wife,
Tabitha); Miss Bill March, lead the pledges to both the American and the Texas Flags; Mrs. James H. (Johnnie

noted among these cults are the
Pocomanians and the Rastafarians
Leslie Bartley is the founder, ad
ministrator, and director of the
Assemblies of God Bible College in
Jamaica He introduced the concept
of "Strawberry Evangelism into
his ministry in Jamaica. This con-
cept puts forth a very practical
method of reaching people with the
message of Jesus Christ and will be
described d.uring this mission's
rally.
Six years ago, Mr Bartley and his
wife Frances were appointed by the
Assemblies of God's Division of
Foreign Missions to minister in
Jamaica Their mission philosophy
is "training others to train others to
train others "
The Bartley's, prior to missionary
appointment, held pastoral
positions in Logansport and Nat
chitoches, Louisiana, and Mabank
and Bullard, Texas Mr Bartley
earned a B A degree from No"'

degree from The University of
Texas in Tyler, and is currently
working on a Ph 1) in Education
from Walden University in Min-
neapolis, Minn In addition to his
pastoral ministry Mr Bartley has

Tyler Section of the Assemblies of
God as its secretary treasurer for
seven years Mr Bartley has served
on many committees and boards
while pastoring in Louisiana and
East Texas
