An election is hereby called for
and will be held in the City of
Ennis, in all the wards thereof
on the first Tuesday in April,
1935, being the second day lof said
month, for the purpose of 'electing
a mayor and a city marshal, to
serve said city for a term begin-
ning in April, 1935, and ending in
April, 1937.
That said election shall be held
in accordance with the laws ot
the State of Texas, regulating
elections in cities and towns and
no person shall vote in said elec-
tion, unless he be a qualified
elector, under the laws of the
State of Texas, and shall have re-
sided. continuously for six months
preceding this election within the
corporate limits of the City of
Ennis, Texas, and shall have paid
his state poll tax, unless he shall j
be exempt from payment of a poll ’
tax from the State of Texas, for
the year of 1934.
That said election shall be held
in all the wards of said city at
the places and with the judges and
clerks as follows:

Ellis county in. the late seventies,
lived near Nash for a few years
and came to Ennis in 1891. He was
married here in 1893 to Miss Eva
McCanless, sister of Hix McCan-
less. They left Ennis in 1996 and
moved to Dallas, where . they re-
sided until 1933, when they mov-
ed to Fort Worth to make their
home. He was a member of the
Ennis Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife: a son,
Harold Barnes of Fort Worth, and
two' grandchildren, Phyllis and
Bobbie Barnes.
