As students we like to con-
sider ourselves mature and edu-
cated people, yet we criticize the
people dedicated to protecting
our well being and property
throughout the year. In conver-
stions with many fellow students
the topic of our police department
is usually not followed expres-
sions of appreciation and grati-
tude, but rather, an adversary
tone and point of view.
As mature and educated stu-
dents I feel we need to look upon
this subject and analyze the situ-
ation as any respectable scholar
would to see where the real prob-
lem lies.
First of all, most students
complain about speeding or park-
ing tickets, yet they never point
the finger at themselves for the
way they drive or park. Why do
we always find it so easy to blame
someone other than ourselves?
Would'nt it be absolutely horrible
