The numerous events scheduled
for the week will include: Crazy
Olympics, the Health Fair, an Inter-
national Student Panel, Open Mike
Night and a celebration of Heritage
Day. Capping the week’s events will
be the Spring-Fling semi-formal,
when the Spring Fling King and
Queen will be announced. The
events will be presented by the Stu-
dent Activities Council (SAC) and
co-sponsored by the Junior Class,
Students’ Association, Inc. (SAI),
and the campus Health Center.
One of the highlights of the dance
will be the crowning of Spring Fling
King and Queen. Students will be
nominated for these roles at elec-
tions held in Moody Hall on March
23 from 8:30 to 2:30 p.m. Names of
the top nominees will appear on
ballots at the April 7 elections.
Those interested in helping with
the Spring Fling activities should at-
tend the SAC Special Events Com-
mittees meeting on March 22 at
10:40 a.m. in Moody 202.

Although actual renovation of
the Main Building is not expected to
begin for six months, the process of
moving offices has begun.
Last week the offices of two New
College faculty members were re-
located to Sorin Hall. They were
moved into space normally al-
located for gerontology labs, which
are not being held this semester.
The rest of the moving process
will not begin until the beginning of
April at the earliest, said Dick
Kinsey, assistant to the President.
“We’ve done the inventory for
office space needs,” Kinsey said.
“Right now, we’re waiting on the
engineering results on Holy Cross
Hall and cost estimates. We have
one part of the equation, but we’re
missing the other parts—the cost,
where we’re going to move, when,
and in what order.”
On the subject of temporary
buildings, Kinsey said the Univer-
sity is shying away from building
spaces that would be used only for
the move. It would not be cost ef-
fective to put up temporary
buildings.
Instead, said Kinsey, the Univer-
sity is looking at portions of the
five-year plan in an attempt to in-
tegrate the move with compatible
projects.
An example is the need to build
new maintenance sheds and locate
them nearer the Physical Plant. A
possibility would be to construct the
new buildings with concrete floors

Sheri Galloway of the Texas Mo-
tion Picture Service (TMPS) com-
mented that the Knightsbridge peo-
ple fell in love with the locale at St.
Edward’s. It was the TMPS who
located the settings for the
Knightsbridge taping sessions.
The film footage shot on the SEU
campus will be forwarded to New
York where it will be edited and
prepared for distribution. The com-
mercial will be aired in late April.
As Crazy Olympics opens the
Spring Fling festivities, the semi-
formal dance scheduled for April 16
will bring the festitivies to a close.
SAC will present live music by
“The Current.” The dance will be
conducted at the Moody Atrium.
