months on a bust of Abraham Lincoln. Every night a
cleaning lady swept the chips and watched the slow
progress of the project. When the statue was finished, she
was deeply impressed and earnestly commented, “Tell
me, how did you know that Mr. Lincoln was in that rock?”
Perhaps the greatest miracle ever acheived is the
salvation of a person. God looks beyond our sinfulness and
sees great potential of goodness when we join our hearts
with him. To be frank, there is no latent god within us as
most cults teach. After all, the sin of Adam and Eve was
their trying to be like God. However, within every person
there is the capacity to accept Christ as Savior and be
transformed into someone brand new. Salvation is the art
of God.
Michelangelo was once complimented on his beautiful
statues. How could he envision such wonderful figures and
scenes and details in a cold hunk of marble? “Within every
stone there is an angel waiting to be released.’’ Within us
there is a loveable creature God is wanting to release. Let
God perform on you his tender care.

In a contested defensive
struggle, the under-8 Fire-
birds prevailed over the
Hurricanes, 2-0.
The first half ended in a
-0-0 tie. The Firebirds ap-
plied constant pressure and
only superb goal-tending
kept the Firebirds off the
scoreboard.
Chris Kurtz hit the goal
post and the ball bounced
out; Ben Judelson, George
Scalise and Brian Juliana
also had several shots on
goal which were saved by
the Hurricanes defense.
The second half was a
different game as the Fire-
birds kept the pressure on
the Hurricanes throughout.
Both goals were scored by
Chris Kurtz. The first goal
was set up with an assist by
Brian Juliana. On the sec-
ond goal, Chris Kurtz out-
distanced the Hurricanes
defense and on a break-
away, easily beat the
Hurricanes goalie.
Team members are
Caleb Brantley, Zede Crai-
gen, Sammy Farghali, Ben
Judelson, Brian Juliana,
Chris Krouskup, Chris
Kurtz, David Lillard, Troy
Marsden, Bill McCoy, Ste-
ve Rodick, Jason Rodriguez
and George Scalise.

Kurtz was voted best of-
fensive player and best
over-all game. Chris
Krouskup was awarded
best defensive player, and
Troy Marsden was voted
most imporved. Coaches
are Harvey Judelson, Mike
Juliana and Bob Rodick.

Marsden.
