The Apollonicon was a gigantic instrument which could
be made to sound like a symphony orchestra. First played
publicly in London in 1817, the brilliant arrangement of
its five keyboards enabled five persons to play a compos-
ition together.

Everyone knows electric
bills go up and down through-
out the year. Some months
they’re low. Some months
they’re higher, depending on
how much electricity you use.
But for most of us there
aren’t any highs and lows in
our monthly income. It’s pretty
much the same from month
to month. So, balancing the
monthly budget can be a
problem.
Well, Texas Power and
Light Company has an answer.
It’s the Average Billing Plan.

And each month after you
join, you’ll pay an average of
your monthly electric bills over
the past twelve months. No
more ups and downs.
Of course, you’re still
paying for all the electricity
you use. But with average bill-
ing, your electric bills will be
about the same each month.
So budgeting will be that
much easier.

Plan, call your local TP&L

Crystal Ruth Trower and
Edward Hunter Clements,
both of Little Elm, will be
married June 16 in the
Little Elm First Baptist
Church.
Parents of the couple are

Bonnie G. Griffin of Little
Elm, and Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey R. Clements of
Little Elm.
The bride-elect is a May

Each bidder was allowed
only one counter offer dur-
ing negotiations, the mayor
said. He said that the
Oprea group offered $3.10
a square foot on the counter
offer, “and then Talmadge
Tinsley came back with
$3.12.”
“Nick never built a shop-
ping center, and Talmadge
Tinsley has built a few,”
Sample said. That’s T-T’s
plans of the acreage. Oprea
had said earlier that as a
Colony citizen he was con-
cerned about the Talmadge
Tinsley contract with the
city. “I didn’t know Nick
was an attorney. I feel
comfortable with Boyle’s
advice,” Sample said.
The mayor said that Tal-
madge Tinsley’s offer of
$3.12 a square foot was net
for the city. The Oprea
group offered $3.10 based
on them agreeing to pay all
real estate fees, Sample
said.
Oprea and Sample dis-
agree on how the $1.9
million should be spent.
Oprea said that it should be
spent for recreation facili-
ties, a swimming pool,
library and police station,
and there would be a bond
election on funds for a city
hall.
Sample said a city hall is
needed, and funds should
be spent on baseball and

for some. Fire Station 1
should become a comm-
unity center, and there
should be a bond election
for another fire station, he
said.
The mayor said he had
never seen Oprea at a City
Council meeting when pri-
orities were being discuss-
ed. He added that the
council would not have
heard Oprea discussing
•priorities if he had been
awarded the contract.
The present City Hall is
a crowded portable bank
building, and $5,000 was
spent last year repairing
the roof, Sample said. He
added that it would help
the city attract industry and
business if there was an
attractive municipal com-
plex.
The Talmadge Tinsley of-
fer included $50,000 for a
library.
