with Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Ann. art. 970a and Section
1.03. of Chapter 1 of the Home Rule Charter of the
City of The Colony, Texas, adopted January 20, 1979,
two (2) public hearings to consider institution of
annexation proceedings to annex that lot, tract, and
parcel of land described in Exhibit “A” which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein as if copied
in its entirety into the body of this ordinance and are
hereby called as follows:
(a) Notice of this public hearing shall be
published in a newspaper having general
circulation in the City, and in the territory
proposed to be annexed. Said notice shall be
accomplished by publication of this ordinance
in its entirety, including Exhibit “A” at least
once in said newspaper not more than twenty
(20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to
each public hearing.
(b) Additional notice by Certified Mail shall
be given to railroad companies, if any, serving
the City and on the City’s tax roll where the
right of way is located within the territory to
be annexed.
