RKO MAJESTIC
All Houston theatre-goers are going
to receive their biggest Christmas pres-
ent when they attend the big double
feature program now showing at the
RKO Majestic, Manager Andy Talbot
spent the last five days trying to get
this big Xmas present.
Mitzi Green will be seen in "Little
Orphan Annie,” playing the part of
Annie, Mitzi is acclaimed the child
wonder of the screen today and
handles this character excellently, Sup-
porting her is little he-man Buster
Phelps, May Robson and Edgar Ken-
nedy.
"Little Orphan Annie” story is tak-
-en from the comic strip dealing with a
little orphan girl who has a million
homes and still is an orphan. There is
laughs, comedy and tears all woven in
a sweet story that the grown up will
love as well as the children.
The added feature is Lee Tracy and
Lupe Valez in a very timely story, the
"Half Naked Truth,” taken from the
book "Phantom of Fame.” Lee Tracy
is seen as a high powered press agent
who could sell two pants suits to
Ghandi, and snow plows to Hawaiians.
Lupe Valez is seen as Princess Exotica
of hula fame who orders a pot of tea,
two pieces of toast and forty pounds
of raw meat for breakfast, just another
one of Lee Tracy’s high powered press
stunts that lands her a job in the
Follies. This’ wise-cracking, smart-

The film moves in about' the tempo
suggegted by the tftle and should prove
exceedingly popular with Haines’ fans
of old who have blamed the producers
for taking their William out of sport-
ing roles.
In Fast Life, Haines enters another
sport. This time he is the inventor and
driver of what he claims will be the
fastest motor boat of all time. Sub-
sequent spills, difficulties, and finally
a love affair developes after the vil-
lain is disposed of, are all set in old
time fashion.
Mickey Mouse will no doubt prove
of almost equal interest in "Mickey’s
Good Deed,” his first cartoon in col-
ors. This film is both beautiful and
timely with Mickey turning Santa
Claus to bring happiness to poor chil-
dren.
Our Gang comes in for more hon-
ors with little Spanky of Dallas, and
Pete the dog taking their share of de-
served bows.

TEXAS YOUNG JUDAEAN
MEET IN DALLAS
The executive committee of the
Texas Young Judaean Association
held its annual meeting in Dallas last
Sunday when it outlined plans for the
organization for the coming year.
Littman Danziger, president of the
association, presented his suggestions
to guide activities of the organization
until the annual conclave in Dallas
early in September. .
Among the important decisions of
the committee was the proposed cul-
tural meeting between champion rep-
resentatives of . the Texas Association
and Southern Interstate organization
in a neutral city early in the spring.
This is to include debating and de-
claiming contests between representa-
tives of both organizations at a time
and place that will be announced
through the columns of this paper.
Clarence Goldstein, chairman of the
cultural committee, reported that the
cultural work of the association has
been proceeding very rapidly and of-
fered further suggestions so as to in-
crease the interest in cultural aspects
of Zionism to an even larger degree
among the 11 clubs that at present
comprise the membership of the as-
sociation.
A proposal to stage a national Jew-
ish sporting contest in Houston under
the auspices of the Texas Young Ju-
daean Association was discussed and
then 'referred to a sub-committee for
further investigation.
A council of noted Texas leaders
and pioneers in Zionism to aid in
furthering the work and cause of
Young Judaea in Texas was voted up-
on favorably by the executive com-
mittee and will be formed very soon.
