Mra. Bolton died Thursday in a
Jacksonville nursing home follow-
ing a long illnoas She was born
March 9,1891, in Cherokee County
and wss a charter member of the
Maydelle Baptist Church, which
was organized in 1918. She was
honored cm her 100th birthday by a
proclamation from the City of Jack-
sonville and also received acknowl-
edgments from Present Bush.
Survivors are a son snd daugh-
ter-in-law, Bnnis and Mildred
Bolton of Jacksonville; two grand-
daughters, Brands Pepin of Chey-
enne, Wyo. and Cathy Merriwether
of Crockett; a great-grandson, Mar-
tin Pepin of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two
great-granddaughters, Ashley
Merriwether of Crockett snd April
Pepin of Cheyenne, Wyo; a sister-
in-law, Minnie Mullinix of Jack-
sonville.
Pallbearers were J. T. Roach, Don
Crawford, Carl B. Daniels, Shan-
non EseD, Johnny Merriwether and
Lt. Col.. Leeter T. Pepin.
Honorary pallbearer* were dea-
cons of the Maydelle Baptist
Church.
Milton Stafford
Funeral for Milton Stafford, 82,
of San Diego, Calif., formerly of
Rusk was at 1 p.m. Friday in the
Elm Grove Baptist Church with
the Rev. George McDuff officiat-
ing.
Burial was in Pleasant Plain
Cemetery under the direction of
Mercy Funeral Home.
Mr. Stafford died July 7 in a San
Diego hospital. He was bom March
21,1911, at Pine Hill.
He attended Cherokee County
schools, served in the U.S. Army
and retired at the Milmar Naval
Air Station. He fervqpl may years
as a deacon at Linda Bista Second
Baptist Church.
Survivors are his twin brother,
Chilton Stafford and sister-in-law,
L. V. Stafford, both of Rusk; a sis-
ter, Exvenia Warren of Delhart;
two nieces Rubye Jo Allen of Fort
I Worth and Jacqueline Whitaker of,
Rusk; two nephews Donald
Stafford of Dallas snd Bobby
Stafford of Maryland.
He waa preceded in death by his
wife, Jimmy Lacy Stafford.
Nephews served aa pallbearers.

Memorial service for Grace E-velyn
Smith Beesions Bowman, 69, of
New Braunfels, formerly of Wells,
was held July 12 at the Oakwood
Baptist Church, New Braunfels.
Burial wss July 13 at the Mount
Hope Cemetery, Wells.
Mrs. Bowman died July 11 at the
Kirkwood Manor after a lengthy
illness. She formerly resided in
Wells, but hsd lived at New
Braunfels for the past five years.
She wss a member of the Oakwood
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bowman waa preceded in
death by bar parante, Cari and Maty
Smith and her husbands, John
Francis Sessions in 1946 and Jamee
Edwin Bowman in 1989.

Zion United Methodist Churches,

Dr. George Wilson
Dr. Wilson is s native of Philadel-
phia, Penn. and grew up in the 8an
Antonio vicinity. He holds s Bach-
elm- of Arta degree from St. Mary's
University and a Master of Divinity
degree from Princeton University
and a Doctor <jf Ministries from
Southern Methodist University.
During his 18 years in the minis-
try, Dr. Wilson has served churches
in Elect**, Longview, Diana, tyler,
Pasadena, Houston and Port Arthur
before moving to Alto in 1992.
He has been described by other
ministers ss "ons of the best pulpit
preachers around." Hia wife,
Pamela, is a native of Harlingen.
Music for the revival will be un-
der the direction ofBettyand Darvin
Collins. Congregations] singing,
special music and a fellowship time
following the services are sched-
uled each evening.
Pastor Nunnally and the church
