CITY NOW SPORTS CAPITOL
Well I was absent from this
spot last week and I hope you’ll
pardon. I was in New York and
Washington on business
combined with taking in a few
sports affairs.
I was amazed at the great
reception all pro sports are
getting in New York City now.
Of course there is a reason . . .
winning and a perfect site for
the action at Madison Square

July 15 — August 5 in Israel.
The festival will be a
combination of sports
competition, tours of the
country and visits to kibbutzim.
Aim of the committee,
according to Cohen, is to bring
the Jewish youth closer to the
state of Israel, to allow for
extensive sports activities and
competitions.
"While sports competition
will comprise an integral part of
the Festival, the criterion for
selecting participants will be
Jewish commitments first with
athletic prowess second,” Cohen
explained. Younsters in the 15 —
17 age bracket who wish to
attend are asked to contact your
columnist or Sam Cohen at the
Jewish Community Center.
