SOCIAL SECURITY
Ours is a country which spe-
cialized in cards — calling cards
. credit cards. Chances are that
you have at least six cards of
one kind or another in your
purse or wallet at this very
moment. The card that is prob-
ably more important than all
other of your cards, though, is
one that has nine numerals on
it and is commonly referred to
as a social security account num-
ber cards.
Since you will need the card
when you go to work, file your
income tax returns, or file for
'benefits under the social secur-
ity program, it is very import-
ant that you protect the card.
If you have never had a card,
now is the time to get one. Or,
now is the time to have the
card reissued if you have lost
track of it. You can do this by
asking your postmaster for
form SS-5 or by contacting your
social security representative-

it will fall on Sunday this year, and the chances of
making last-minute purchases Christmas morning, are
positively nil. May we suggest with all the fervor of
which we are capable, that you BUY NOW AND PAY
LATER, if you wish, but PLEASE do not wait.

DEER HIDES WANTED
The Annual Deer Hide Project,
sponsored by the member organ
ization of the VAVS Advisory
Committee at the Veterans Ad-
ministration Hospital, Kerrville
Texas, will be in full swing
with the opening of the deer
hunting season.
This project was initiated
several years ago to provide
buckskin to the hospitalized
veterans for use in making var-
ious items in their Occupational
Therapy Projects.
Hunters are asked to donate
their hides, either raw or tan-
ned, to this worthy project.
Many of the Veterans organiza-
tions and Locker Plants in the
Hill Country collect the hides
for the Committee and locally
arrangements have been made
with the Heart O’ the Hills
Taxidermy to receive the dona-
ted hides for the Committe.
