GRASS FIRES OCCURING
FREQUENTLY
The Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment has been real busy since
the lack of rain and frost has
dried all grass and underbrush.
On Friday, November 25, the
Fireboys responded to a Rural
call to Friendly Hills Estates
where a grass fire was in pro-
gress.
On Sunday the 27th, a record
was set with three alarms, be-
ginning at 2:15 A.M. a call was
made to Lakeside acres, south
of Boerne, at 11:30 a grass fire
started in the Sill property on
Sisterdale Road, this spread in-
to the old Wollschlaeger pasture
and at 6:30 P.M. a call was made
to Tiny’s Place, north or Boer-
ne where a Barbecue Pit was
ablaze. No real property dam-
age in either case was reported.
The City has issued a warning
concerning burning trash within
the City limits. Some of the
foregoing fires were out of the
City limits.
Too Old
A customer had complained
about the pastry. “I was making
pastry before you were born,”
replied the indignant cook.
“Maybe,” replied the custom-
er, “but why sell it now?”
