If you are disturbed in mind or spirit don't emulate the
turtle, go to church this week, renew old ties and form new
ones and you will be gratified with the inner satisfaction and
sense of well-being that comes over you. Don't become a
hermit!

As the turtle withdraws into his shell upon the first sign
of danger so it is with the grim hermit. Instead of standing up
' Jo and facing his responsibilities and obligations to society
he withdraws from the society of his fellowmen and lives en-
tirely to and within himself, in failing to face the realities of
everyday life he loses contact with the world and the world
of men lose because of his action.
To stabilize our emotional balance we need association

practice to do “business as usual”
on Sunday, thus bringing a
change in our moral climate.
We realize that some of our
religious people occasionally for-
get some of the principles of their
faith, and because of convenience,
or because of being so price-con-
scious, they carelessly or un-
thoughtedly violate their better
moral judgements. We also real-
ize there are certain emergency
services that need to be available.
But we also believe that every re-
ligious person ought to be allow-
ed to worship in the church of
his choice on the day set aside
for that purpose.
We therefore appeal to the in-
dividual conscience. To all God
fearing people, we appeal to you
to observe the Sabbath in ac-
cordance with the convictions of
your faith. To the merchants, we
appeal to you to voluntarily de-
cide to close your business on
Sunday,, if such business cannot
be classified as one being neces-
sary inshheeting real emergency
needs of the citizens of our com-
munity.
Our thanks to those merchants
who have never opened on Sun-
day, to those who have closed—
and to those who will close.
