Mr. and Mrs. Lon C. Stapp of Blue Ridge will be honored with
a reception from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 20th, at the Blue
Ridge Community Center, celebrating their 50th wedding an-
niversary. The couple were married November 15, 1916, at the
bride’s home near Blue Ridge. They have four children, Mrs.
Everett D. Hawkins, Mrs. Frank D. Martin, Leonard R. Stapp,
and the late Richard M. Stapp, all of Dallas. They have five
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Relatives and friends
are invited to the reception.

T. Reaves has entered Wilson N.
Jones at Sherman where she will
undergo surgery on Wednesday.
Saturday, November 12 is a
day which will long be remem-
bered by those attending “Home-
coming” at the Anna School. Reg-
istration began shortly after one
o’clock, and a steady stream of
guests kept the registrars busy
the rest of the afternoon. A large
and appreciative audience filled
the gymnasium for the program
and recognition of guests. Supt.
Willis Boone was in charge of the
program. The oldest graduate at-
tending was L. H. Goforth, who
graduated in the class of 1900.
Others receiving their share of
recognition were: Mrs. Hattie
Powell Kline, Dow Hendricks,
Miss Nora Powell, Mrs. Jewel
Rattan Bralley and Mrs. E. O.

tending and honors for the grad-
uate travelling the longest dis-
tance went to Roland ‘ Clayton
Jones of Washington D C who
is employed by Rep. Ray ROb-
eits. The entire Homecoming
events were dedicated to the
memory of the late Prof. W L
Roper, whose Christian influence
is felt in the lives of all those
whom he taught. It was decided
to have the Homecoming reunion
each year, and Bill Powell was
elected president of the associa-
tion. em
Following the program eac/9
class assembled in rooms assign-
ed to their group for the organ-
izational procedures.
The closing event was the bar-
becue supper held in the school
lunchroom. The entire affair re-
vealed the outstanding efforts put
forth by so many and a big
“thank you” goes to everyone
who helped to make the Home-
coming such a success.
Mrs. Hosea Luscomb was hon-
ored at a birthday celebration in
Mrs. Era Powell and Mrs. Glenna
Hendricks. The honoree enjoyed
the afternoon with her neighbors
and relatives, and the beautiful
birthday cake and the many nice
gifts she received. We join others
, with congratulations and best
wishes for many more happy
birthdays for “Miss Bertie.”
