WHITE SOX BASEBALL NEWS
On March 9, 1969, a meeting of
all interested White Sox players
and officials was held at the bowl-
ing alley. Harold Minor Jr. was
elected manager. It was decided
that practices will be held every
Wednesday and Friday at 5 p.m.
The first practice session will be
this Friday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m.
and Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m.
If there are any young players
who would like to come and try
out, please be present for these
practices. If there are any old-
timers that have a hit or two left
in them, we urge them to also
make it.
We are looking for another fine
season of baseball. The Sox won
all that the Hill Country League
had to offer last year. With the
wonderful support the Sox re-
ceived last year, they should be
able to do the same this year.
Don’t forget the first game will
be April 13 at Bower Field. The
White Sox will be playing the
Klassing Oilers of San Antonio.
ATTENTION
There will be a meeting of
the Band Boosters Thursday,
March 27 at the High School
Auditorium. This meeting is to
consider New Uniforms. All
members and non-members
that are interested in our ex-
cellent band are urged to
attend.
