Lamb, a prominent ginner here who
has been mentioned frequently for his
war activities and potato growing, has
proven to the satisfaction of his
friends that he is indeed and in truth
some farmer.
From a 3%-acre patch Mr Lamb
gathered 22,000 pounds of spuds, or
in bushels, about 444.
Corn in a nearby field has long
since passed the roasting oar stage and
if one good rain had fallen about
a week ago the yield would have been
at least 140 bushels to the acre, as
old timers here state that they have
never seen such corn.
Black-eyed peas have grown during
the drougth and wagonroacs of them
are on the vinee.
Bob Lamb is a patriot and believee
in cultivation, even if it oes not rain,
and as a result his war garden is the
curosity of the town
When not otherwise employed. Bob
does a few hours* of sweater knitting
and has to his credit several sweaters
that he has done all the work on.

who has done graduate work in Leon-
