ket for raw sugar continues strong,
closing st 17%c for Cubas, cost and
freight.
In refined sugar some of the re-
finer, have advanced their list quo-
tations with prices now ranging from
14 to 17 cents for fine granulated.
The demand is still active and
much in excess of the supply, as most
of the refiners are out at the mar-
ket
Recently, however, some second-
hand augers have been sold at 25
cents per pound for prompt ship-
ment

Cotton consumed during March
amounted to 475,744 running bales
of lint and 28,668 bales of lintera,
the Census Bureau announces.
Consumption in March a year ago
was 422,415 bales of lint and 10,-
401 of linters.
Cotton on hand March 11 this year
in consuming establishments was 1,-
855,480 bales in lint and 281.253 of
Imnters, compared with 1.460,187 of
lint and 277.344 of linters a year
ag, and in public storage and at
compresses 1,144, MS bales of lint and
198,887 of‘lintera a year ago.
Imports during March were 133,-
727 bales, compared with 14,541 a
year ago.
Exports were 744,444 bales of lint
including 4.471 of linters, compared
with 404,114 of lint and 1,171 of
linters a year ago.
