STAY OF EXECUTION
GRANTED TO NEGROES

Gov. Brough granted a 10 daye stay
of execution to the six negroeg who
for the second time were convicted
of having participated in the race
uprising at Elaine last fall.
The stay was granted to enable
the negroes’ attorneys to perfect ap-
peals to the state Supreme Court,
the Governor announced.
