Eagle's Nest
by Michael Gillen, Pastor
First Assembly of God, Rusk
My personal experience has been, when I know
God's Character I can trust Him! God is personally
known, believers commit personally to Him. God
responds to believing behaviour by protecting
them from dangers. God has a place, purpose in
one's life, when that person seeks after God and
follows the guiding light of the Holy Spirit. Paul a
prisoner for Christ sensed God's presence. God's
presence is described as wherever we are. As
Jacob was fleeing at Bethel, God made himself
known to him. God knows eternally what He has
known in the past what He will know in the future.
His knowledge does not increase or diminish as
He knows the events will take place in our lives.
In order to know God, we must view his character
that never changes. He is holy, revealed by His
will, derived from his character. He is just. He
administers rewards and punishment with justice,
fairness, Tightness and absolute results. His good-
ness indicates his love, grace toward all men and
saving grace toward sinners who will only believe
and trust Him. God is unchangeable. He does
not need to change or be corrected, improved,
or experience more insight as man does. God
is known by the things He does and known in
his desired fellowship. He delights being with his
own people. Moses experienced assurance in his
presence. God reasoned with him, "my presence
shall go with you and I will give you rest." Mankind
needs spiritual fellowship with God. God never
becomes lonely, yet He extends fellowship to us,
Who then practices believing and trusting Him.
