Nichols of South Austin, who is In
San Antonio at the bedside of her
sister, Mrs. Gates, who has been
critically ill since last Friday from
| the effects of a serious wound re-
ceived from the accidental dis-
charge of a pistol, that Mr*. Gates
is slightly improved with some
hope* of recovery held out by her
attendant physician.
