many of the crews of the destroy-
ers Woobury and Fuller, which,
with five other destroyers, were
wrecked near here Saturday night.
Captain Noceti and his crew crossed
the surf time after time, landing
about 150 sailors on the beach from
the two destroyers lying farthest
from shore. Then the fishermen
returned to their nets
While the fishermen were plying
back and forth through the surf.

ently unable to help their compan-
