The first organized chaars of the
scholastic year 1333-14 were led
by Chief Tell Leader Nowotny.
Short talks were made by a num-
ber of university students and
members of the faculty. The theme
of each speech was more or less a
rousing send-off for Lonshorn
students as they sot forth into the
fall activities of the university.
W. S. Button. acting president of
the university, opened up with an
address which dealt to a great
extent with freshmen. He com-
mented to the effect that this
year’s crop of frosh is the "Mnest
bunch of green heads" he has ever
