had gone to meet Underwood, his
boyhood friend. In his message,
Avery requested the local Under-
wood supporters gather at the Katy
depot here but the message failed
to state the hour. It is believe I
however that since Avery used the
word “afternoon" he meant the
Kaiy that arrives here at 4:45 p. m
The text of Avery’s message fol-
lows:
“Senator Underwood will have
25 minutes at Austin Friday after-
noon. October 24. He will arrive
on Katy and will hold reception at
station. Great reception here.
Want everyone to go down to sta-
tion and meet him."
