IN the passing of Dr. Strathearn I
have personally lost one of my
dearest friends. Even though we be-
lieve "Our loss is Heaven's gain" the
parting leaves a strange tug at the
heart which cannot be described.
Acting on the executive committee
of the board of directors of Winona
Lake Christian Assembly, Dr. Strat-
hearn has given invaluable advice,
counsel and help since the beginning.
Because of his close association with
Mr. LeTourneau, our president; it
was my privilege to work very close
to him all these years, and each year
found our friendship sweeter and
deeper.
His "bigness" of heart was shown
in his concern for other activities and
people, despite the fact that he had
many duties of his own and in the
religious field for Mr. LeTourneau
which usurper most of his time. His
untiring efforts in his Christian Youth
Camp and the tremendous part he
played in refugee work are only a
small indication of t h e Christian
Statesman he was.
