and start copying so they won't be too
far behind you. The other way is to
take the same length of time develop-
ing (because it just can't be done only
so fast) but instead of keeping it
secret, you tell the world what it is
immediately-tell them you are de-
veloping it but it won't be ready for
say a year. Then keep on talking about
it and the next year tell them it will be
another six months. Keep telling them
how wonderful it is but it isn't quite
ready and after two or three years you
finally bring it out and by that time
everybody has their mouth watering
for it and it goes over with a bang
because everybody knows about it.
And whether you have the "bugs" all
out or not, (more likely not because
the contractors will find conditions
that are not prevalent at any test
farm) they all think you must have
them out because they know you have
been working on it so long. The first
method is the one most generally used
but in a few cases I have seen the
latter method used very successfully,
and I'm not so sure but what it is the
best one.
