do. When it had been working one
hour, he said that it had done more
than 100 men could do in a day.
As the machinery was unloaded,
it was assembled on the beach. While
this was taking place, Mr. LeTour-
neau took the dozer and drove an ex-
ploratory road ten miles into the
jungle. For a day or so he walked as
he looked over the ground in the
jungle, but he then conscripted a
Farmall farm tractor, and from then
on he did his running around on this
small tractor which had been carried
to Africa to use in the agricultural
program of the expedition.
Although it rained every day, a
great deal was accomplished. While
on trips into the jungle, many el-
ephant tracks were seen, but no el-
ephants made their appearance.
On the first Sunday after their ar-
rival the LeTourneau party held

LeTourneau Technical Institute be-
gan the fall semester with students
from the four corners of the world.

tries are now included in the Tech
student body. They are pictured with

pictured in upper left are from Mex-
ico City. Pisces Purnabimba and
Saynn Kulachan are from Bangok,
Thailand. From Havana, Cuba, Ar-
mando Badia; from Villarrica Chile,
Nestor Saer; Bombay, India is repres-
ended by Freddy J.. Freddy E., and
Saul J. Ezikel: and Robert A. Hurley
from Britania Beach, British Colum-
bia, and David Grusing from Hilbre,
