45 SECONDS WITH THE PRESIDENT
Perhaps it seems like a waste of
time for college men and women to
take time from their studies and
work on floats for a parade. And, in
some cases, no doubt it would be.
But not on the floats and parade the
New Air Planes Arrive
The College's Aeronautical De-
partment was measureably strength-
ened this month with the delivery
o new- airraft---iper Coman-
che 180 and a Piper Comanche 140.
LeTourneau's flight program is
FAA approved and recognized as
one of the best. Many young people
have obtained their wings through
the college's training system.LeTourneau College students gave
to Longview, Texas, on Saturday,
April 18 of this year. They worked
weeks on those floats, and they were
well-done.
Space (see picture top page 1) al-
lows us to show you only one of
them: the first-prize winning Aero-
nautical Technology float. But there
were many others: Electrical Tech-
nology, Industrial Engineering, Me-
chanical Engineering & Technology,
Welding Engineering, Missionary
Technology; & Inter-Society Council.
Here at the college, we didn't know
about the editorial you see on page
1 of this issue of NOW, until we saw
it in the Longview newspaper. But
you can readily understand why all
of us were so thrilled when it came
out. LeTourneau College is becom-
ing of age. We are a necessity to the
community - and to the world.
God is using us to bless others
with the ministry of many trained
young people who have gone forth
-and are going forth - from our
campus, in many areas of the globe.
Here at LeTourneau, the words of
Jesus often burn into the minds of
professors, president and students
alike: "Say not ye, There are yet
four months, and then cometh har-
vest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift
up your eyes, and look on the fields;
for they are white already to har-
vest" (John 4:35).
May God send us forth - to work
and to harvest before it is too late
- is our prayer.WOMEN'S RESIDENCE from pg. 1

individual study area and bed for
each girl.
Ceilings will be sound-engineered
with acoustical tile, and the entire
structure will be centrally heated
and air-conditioned. Each of the four
units will also have its own laundry
and hair drying facilities. Construc-
tion, according to Superintendent of
Buildings and Grounds Tom Bailey,
will meet all building codes through-
out. With this in mind, all wiring
will be enclosed in metal conduit,
and the heating and air-conditioning
equipment will be located outside
the main building.
Target date for completion of a
portion of this structure with facil-
ities for 50 women - anticipated
enrollment for this coming fall se-
mester (approximately double pres-
ent enrollment)-is September first.
