HOUSTON STUDENT SELECTED
FOR ACCELERATED PROORAM
Barbara Levinson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Levinson,
4141 N. Braeswood, has been se-
lected one of two Freshman at the
University of Texas to take a new
accelerated program in Hebrew.
Normally Hebrew can only be
taken at Texas with permission
of the head of that department,
and it usually has been relegated
extend through Nov. 14.

GOLDEN AGE FRIENDSHIP CLUB
The G.A.F.C. of the Jewish
Community Center will not meet
this Sunday, Oct. 8, so that all
its members may attend the spe-
cial Memorial Services at Congre-
gation Beth Yeshurun. The pro-
gram beginning at 4 p.m., is to
dedicate a memorial in memory to
the Six Million Martyrd Jews who
lost their lives during the Second
World War. All GAFC members
are urged to attend.
The next meeting of the GAFC
will be October 15 at 2:30 p.m.,
at the J.C.Center.

bara has planned an education de-
gree with a major in mathematics
and a minor in languages. She re-
ceived her Sunday School training
at Temple Emanuel, Beaumont.
