HADASSAH'S MAN OF THE YEAR - Dr. Michael DeBakey, the
world famed heart surgeon from Houston, is shown receiving the
Henrietta Szold Award, annually given by Hadassah to the out-
standing man and woman for their humanitarian achievements and
accomplishments. Past recipients of this award are Eleanor Roose-
velt, Harry S, Truman, Dr. Albert Sabin, and Vice-President Hubert
Humphrey.
Dr. DeBakey was presented the award at the recent National
Hadassah Convention in Miami Beach, Fla. Pictured with Dr. DeBakey
are, left, Mrs. Mortimer Jacobson, New York, the national president,
and right, Mrs. D. Leonard Cohen, also of New York, chairman of
the Award Committee.

bama Theatre, November 8, at
7:30 p.m.
The Gala will start with a style
show by Sakowitz, and there will
be a Champagne Cocktail party
at intermission. All proceeds will
go to the City of Hope, a national,
free, non-sectarian Pilot Medical
Center in Duarte, Calif. Regular
tickets are $6.00; patrons, $12.50
each.
