Retro news: Is “Booger Red”
dead? Is the question that is
being asked by the friends of
Tom Privett throughout the
state. The report comes that
Booger died up in Arkansas.
His home is at San Angelo,
and he has not been heard of
in several months. His show
traveled all over this and other
states and he is well known in
Dublin having at one time
made his home here. The
information was gained by a
letter from Secretary Johnson
of the McKinney Chamber of
Commerce seeking the
location of “Booger Red.”
Mr. Johnson sent similar
letters all over the state and a
reply from Coleman stated
that it had been reported that
“Booger Red” had died in

The wife of Andrew Jackson, seventh president of our
country, was a pipe smoker. She died shortly after Jackson’s
election so it is unknown whether she actually smoked in the
White House — but Mrs. Zachary Taylor did. And Dolly
Madison, wife of our fourth president, dipped snuff.
