Another item inspiring
memories for City Floral
customers are old feed sacks

decided to make it their new
home. They said goodbye to
reputation for detail and
craftsmanship has given him
the luxury of a growing list of
regular customers. His trophy
belt buckles are starting to get
some local attention at team

other rodeo sites.

collection.
Some of the newer items
available at City Floral and
Gifts include candles,
silver art. The oxbow stirrups
with silver trim are sure to be
popular Christmas gift items.
Moore’s bits and spurs are
priced surprisingly low given
the custom detail and
attention shown each piece.
The spurs start at a little over
$ 100 and move up depending
on the order. One customer
recently asked for spurs with
gold overlay. The bits are a
little cheaper starting at about
$80. His jewelry is
competitively priced as well.
Tim and Brooke Moore
supplement their showroom
sales occasionally with
displays at different western
events including The World
Ranch Rodeo Roundup in
Amarillo and sites as far west
as Arizona, but promise to
stay in Hico for the Christmas
season. They are encouraged
by their warm reception to this
little Central Texas town and
are hoping for many years of
healthy sales.

Margaret is not sure how
rare the complete feed sacks
are but when the people at

Town of Sipe

Destroyed by Fire
Retro news: Fire partially
wiped out the chief business
9 section of the town of Sipe
Springs at 11:00 last Monday
| night. The flames caught in
C the Foust Lumber yard on the
0 southwest border of the
fc business section. The wind
i was right for this to be quickly
which were destroyed with an
estimated fire loss of $50,000
one half of which was the
building and stock of the
Foust Lumber Company. The
garage building was insured
but the contents were not, the
sheet iron warehouse and
contents were about half
covered as was also the
Childress Hotel. The
Woodsman Hall had no
insurance, the Foust loss was
fully covered.

Roosevelt and Rough Riders
Retro news: Some of Colonel
Roosevelt’s Rough Riders
who were with him in Cuba
are trying to arrange for a
reunion of those famous
fighters to be held at Fort
Worth during the Feeders and
Breeders Show, March 13 to
18: Colonel Roosevelt is to
be the guest of the show on
the 14th and the program is to
have the Rough Riders meet
him as he enters the city and
act as his escort. A number of
the Rough Riders live in
Texas, Oklahoma and New
Mexico, and such of them as
have been approached give
enthusiastic support to the
proposition.
