Give Correct
Change of Address
Says Social Security
Faulty notification of change
of address by social security
beneficiaries can cause consid-
erable delay in receipt of month-
ly checks, Fred C. Rogers, social
security district manager at
Houston, pointed out today.
, The Social Security Adminis-
tration processes between 17
and 19 million actions for bene-
ficiaries each month. While not
all these involve changes of ad-
dress, a sizeable portion do.
The change of address process
is quite simple if the person
getting social security benefits
will use the cards given him
when an initial claim is filed.
These can be obtained from any
of the more than 600 social se-
curity district offices in the
country.
“The person wishing to
change his address should give
his or her name, the new ad-
dress and the claim number,”
Rogers said. The latter is al-
ways found on the award letter
which is furnished every person
when his claim for social secur-

Mr. Kamas had gone to feed
his cattle when the fire started,
and it was more than an hour
before he learned of his loss.
The store, built in 1949, was
of frame construction with as-
bestos siding.
Mrs. Kamas was at the store
at the time, and she and Mrs.
L J. Albert telephoned the
Bellville Volunteer Fire Dept,
for help, but the building and
ail contents were beyond saving.
Also responding to the alarm
were the pumper tank trucks
from New Ulm and Industry.
Lost were a large stock of
groceries, tires, feed, cold
drinks, store fixtures and auto
accessories, as well as the bar-
