Schier.
Mrs. Schier was born Hulda
Kersten in Industry January 5,
1882, and came to Sealy at the
age of 12 years, residing here
ever since. On January 30, 1900
she was married here to John C.
Schier, who passed away June
2, 1913. She joined the Metho-
dist Church in 1914. having been
of the Lutheran faith prior to
that time. Over the years she
was a very diligent worker in
the Methodist Church, taking
part in all activities. She was a
member of the Woman’s Society
of Christian Service to 48
years.
The highly-respected matron
died suddenly of a heart attack
while attending a meeting of the
society at the church at 3:05
p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at
the age of 82 years, 4 months
and 23 days.
Survivors are two daughters,

other STAC day will be held.
The all-day car wash will be at
the home of Mr. and Mra. Gus
Nentwig. The cars will be picked
up and delivered to you for your
convenience.
You will be able to find just
about anything you need rang-
ing from an old shoe to a model
airplane motor at the rummage
sale. It will be held at Smith’s
Appliance Store. Should you
happen to want a cake for the
week-end, STAC will have a var-
iety of cakes and pies on sale.
If you have an old typewriter
or adding machine that needs
adjusting, take it to Ray Daven-
port. sponsor of the teen agers,
and he will fix it — the money
going for the benefit of the club.
To sum up the day's activities
a teen age dance will be held
for your entertainment. Music
will be presented by the Drift-
ers. The dance begins at 8:00
p.m.

County Saturday
A run-off election will be held
this Saturday, June 6th, both
Democratic and Republican.
Democratic polling places in
Austin County will be open for
this election from 8 a.m. to 7
p.m. Voters will cast their ballot
in favor of their choice for Unit-
ed States representative at
large. The choice is between
Robert W. Baker of Harris
County and Joe Pool of Dallas
County.
F. J. Krampitz. Jr., will be
presiding judge at the Sealy
voting box and H. I. Johnson
will preside as judge at San Fe-
lipe.
Only two Republican voting
boxes will be open, this being
Sealy and Bellville. All voters
from the other precincts are
asked to vote at one or the other
of these places. Their choice for
U. S. Senator is between George
Bush and Jack Cox.
The Democrats will vote at
the fire station in Sealy and the
Republicans will cast their bal-
