A group of Sealy FHA
members turned to civic
responsibilities, and joined the
Garden Club of Sealy to clean
and weed out the cactus bed at
the junction of Highway 36 and
North Circle Drive. The bed
had gone unattended for some
time and was in dire need of
clean-up. The young ladies
worked diligently to give the
area a neat appearance.
Members performing their
civic duty were Misses Irene
Ondruch, Lonna Harrison,
Sandra Kovar, Betty Resendez,
Rosie Resendez, and Kathy
Frank, Mrs. Alice Walton,
their sponsor, joined by Mrs.
Betty Remmert of the Garden
Club.

Gamma Omega
Meeting Held
At Mewis Cafe
The Gamma Omega Chapter
of the Delta Kappa Gamma
Society meeting was held in
Bellville, February 1, 1:00 p.m.
at the Mewis Cafe. Various
committees met thirty minutes
prior to the scheduled meeting.
Mrs. Norma Kitzman, presi-
dent, conducted the chapter
business. A special report was
given by the Professional
Affairs chairman.
As music is always conducive
to a happy frame of mind, Mrs.
Louellen Pledger led the group
in singing several songs.
The program, “More or Less
Expanding Her Personal In-
volvement.” was under the
direction of Mrs. Maggie
Selman, chairman of Personal
Growth and Services. Each
member was given a worksheet
to help her analyze her personal
involvement in public relations,
in legislatue, and in community
affairs.
A lovely tea, under the
direction of Mrs. Isabel
Frizzell, was hosted by the
Bellville members, at which
time the Gamma Omega
Scholarship Recruit, attractive
Miss Sherry Meyers, Austin
County, a sophomore in Baylor
University, was recognized.
Sherry’s mother, Mrs. Earl
Meyers, Jr., was present to see
her daughter receive the $100
scholarship award.
